Keteke

Nous sommes dans les années 1980, dans la campagne ghanéenne. Atswei est enceinte et souhaite désespérément se rendre à Ateke pour accoucher. Mais lorsqu'elle et son mari Boi ratent le train du matin, seul moyen de transport vers la ville, le couple malchanceux se retrouve coincé sous un soleil de plomb, avec pour seule consolation la boombox de Boi. S'ensuit une course folle contre la montre dans cette comédie loufoque et haute en couleur, qui fait référence avec ironie mais tendresse aux traditions ghanéennes et aux dynamiques de genre.

It's the 1980s in rural Ghana, and Atswei is heavily pregnant and desperate to get to Ateke to deliver her baby. But when she and husband Boi miss the morning train — the only means of transport to the city — the hapless couple are left stranded in the blazing sun with only Boi's boombox for encouragement. A madcap race against time follows in this colorful screwball comedy, with wry but affectionate nods to Ghanaian traditions and gender dynamics.
