Μετά τον ξαφνικό θάνατο του παππού του, ο παλαβιάρης Στάθης βρίσκεται ξαφνικά πρόεδρος μιας μεγάλης ανώνυμης εταιρείας, κινδυνεύει όμως να βρεθεί εκτός εταιρείας, επειδή δεν βρίσκει τις μετοχές που κληρονόμησε. Τις μετοχές αυτές αναζητά και η νεαρή θεία του, η οποία κατορθώνει να στρέψει εναντίον του όλα τα μέλη του διοικητικού συμβουλίου. Αλλά ο Στάθης δείχνει, από την πρώτη στιγμή, ότι είναι ο απόλυτος κυρίαρχος και δεν σηκώνει καμιά αμφισβήτηση, ενώ παράλληλα αναθέτει σε έναν ιδιωτικό ντετέκτιβ την ανεύρεση των πολύτιμων μετοχών.
