La educación sentimental

La educación sentimental es una película melancólica. El director de esta película no puede ver una cuna sin pensar en una tumba, piensa que la belleza duele; y por eso le duele el primer amor y no el último. También es una película cómica, aunque maldita la gracia que tiene porque, además, es una película sobre España.

The sentimental education describes in first person the transit from the youth of Jorge, the filmmaker, to adulthood (increasingly postponed). A traumatic transit, where the innocence of the first days is abandoned based on ruptures and labor and artistic disappointments; where the weight and double nature of the family nucleus is understood, as a repressive entity and refuge.
